Turn evidence into messages people actually hear
You have the evidence. We'll help you make it land, because data doesn’t speak for itself.
Our trainings are developed by a diverse collective of scientists, public health professionals, and communicators. We each have deep expertise, distinct audiences, and proven reach. What we've learned about connecting with the public, we've turned into practical skills you can use.
An example of things your organization can learn:
Knowing your audience: Understand who you're talking to and how to tailor your message for them.
Building a compelling narrative: Translate data and evidence into a story that makes people care.
Centering health equity: Frame your communication to reach the communities most affected.
Navigating hard topics: Communicate about vaccines and other contested subjects with confidence and clarity.
Strategies to combat misinformation: Learn how information flows, the psychology behind how information is received and what does and doesn’t work for combating misinformation.
Turn data into stories: Data visualization, infographics, and creating dashboards.
Practicing under real conditions: Work through exercises that prepare you to put what you learn into practice.
These trainings are available as virtual webinars, in person trainings, or custom format for your organization. Contact liz@yle.health to talk more.

Most communication training is built in the classroom. Ours is built from experience. The scientists, clinicians, and communicators who developed these trainings have spent years figuring out how to reach people across social media, community spaces, and mainstream media, and across languages, cultures, and levels of health literacy. That collective knowledge makes these trainings different.
More on the way
We're developing new offerings based on what communicators and organizations tell us they need help with the most. Topics in the pipeline include social media for scientists and crisis communication.
If there is a topic your organization needs help with, email liz@yle.health and we’ll talk through whether we’re the right fit.
